The Texas Distance Challenge Big Four Sprint!
The Big Four Sprint is the latest and greatest challenge from the TDC team, where challengers will attempt to virtually run or cycle to each of the Big Four Texas cities: Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. That’s a total of 772 miles over 12 weeks! You can take on the challenge solo and crush all of the miles yourself, or you can grab 1-3 of your friends to take on the challenge together!
Austin
The challenge begins in our great state’s capital and also the fastest growing city in Texas, Austin, at the State Capitol building (which is the largest US State Capitol building).
Dallas
You will then (virtually) head up IH-35 to the beautiful skyline of Dallas to the iconic Reunion Tower building (you’ll probably be getting hungry by this point, so feel free to grab dinner at Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck at the top of the tower with breathtaking 560-degree views of the city).
Houston
Next, you will head down IH-45 to the largest city in Texas, Houston, and arrive at the Houston City Hall building (which was built in 1938 as a part of FDR’s Works Progress Administration program).
San Antonio
Then, you’ll follow IH-10 over to historic San Antonio to the Tower of the Americas building (you’ll probably be needing a break by this point, so check out the Skies Over Texas 4D Theatre Ride that takes visitors on a high-flying trip across the Lone Star State).
The home stretch will take you, back up IH-35 to close out the Big Four Sprint in Austin.
The Big Four Sprint will begin on February 1st at 12:01 AM, and you will have until April 30th AT 11:59 PM to finish. Every participant will receive a Texas Distance Challenge patch, sticker, bandana, and some awesome goodies from some of our partners. If you are able to complete the challenge, you’ll receive the TDC Big Four Sprint Finishers Shirt!
